In class today, we did a short reading of a segment of a book by Maya Angelou.
One of the questions were, what quotation struck you from the reading. One of the quotes that struck me is "Death, where they sting?." I'm not really sure of what it might mean, but it just struck me when i read it.
The second thing we had to do is make a found poem of all the words or phrases that struck you.
When I think of Death, I think of a country with no return. I am unable to accept the idea of my own demise. Money can imprison and inhibit more finally than barred windows and iron chains. Life is having a good time. Life is an adventure.
the third thing we had to do is what our idea of a "good life" is.
I believe that the "good life" is a lifew with no stress and no worries. I can have a bunch of money and have no freedom whatsoever and dread every second of life. Or I can be a middle class individual with friends and fun.
I believe that the "good life" is a life that we enjoy and anyone can enjoy life.
