"Wrong place at the wrong time"
Dont you just hate it when that happens, when you are innocently in the kitchen eating a cookie and the dog knocks over the vase. Or when you are sitting in the classroom when your favorite painting falls onto the floor. These moments always seem to happen to me. I always seem to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and accusations fall on me like rapid fire. The worst part is that you can't even argue it, or it's hard to. I mean, you are the only person there and there is really no other person to blame. It seems that I'm usually at the wrong place at the wrong time and almost never at the right place at the right time. That's life I guess.

"Forever, and ever, and ever"
This made me come up with the question, "what is forever?"
Forever seems like a long time. I really wouldn't like to do anything forever. I wouldn't really want to live forever, I wouldn't want to be dead forever either. Forever just seems so unimaginable. Like being stuck doing something for the rest of eternity. It's like being stuck in a trance. Personally, I believe the thought of doing anything forever is downright horrifying. Well that's it :D

"Easily in but not easily out."
This quote at first, didn't make much sense to me. It was because if you easily get in somewhere, it shouldn't be hard to come out. Then I thought of jail. You could easily get in jail but it might take years to come out. Then, theres traps. If someone was mean enough to trap you in a 20 ft hole, that'd be pretty hard to climb out of. Also, there are lobster pots and ankle snares. If an animal got trapped in one of those, there not gonna get out and they'll probably get killed by the fisher or hunter who trapped them. But still, this quote doesnt apply to everything, doesnt apply to most things, but, i still like it.

"If you live you may yet have good fortune but the dead are dead alike"

This quote was said by a horse to a princess named Aravis who wanted to kill herself. I believe that this quote means that even during hard times, you can't give in and if you just live a little longer, good fortune is going to strike you. The second part probably means that if you do give in and if you do perish, then you are just like everyone else who has passed on and fortune will not strike you ever again. I believe that this quote is pretty confusing and that it can be translated in many different ways, but that's why I chose it to be my quote of the week.

Very Late reading jounal

Ok I almost forgot to post this reading journal but okay I did it.
The quote I had was
"All good things must come to an end."

I really want to disagree with this quote because I like all the good things in my life and I don't want them to "come to an end". This quote somewhat reminds me of the time when our seventh grade teacher, Mrs. Randolph, was talking to us about the history of China. She was saying how it has been around for around 5000 years. But she concluded her lecture saying that "China, like every other empire, will fall eventually. Just like Rome, it was disappear" or something like that. China is a really awesome country and I don't want it to "fall". Well, I do agree with this quote, I just wish it weren't so true.

"An orphaned boy and a kidnapped horse gallop for Narnia . . . and freedom."
This quote was the first thing on the back of the book. I couldn't really find anything else to write about. Anyways, I changed the book I was reading because the other one was really boring. The new book I'm reading is called "The Horse and His Boy." So the quote above tells basically the whole plot of the story. The boy found a kidnapped horse and they left for Narnia. Now My question is, what is freedom? How is Narnia freedom. Maybe some random guy who hated Narnia would think it was the opposite of freedom. The truth is, there isn't "freedom" anywhere. You can't break a window and get away with it, you can't talk in class, you can't do a lot of things in this world. There is always a limitation. That is why there is NO freedom.

"Land in sight!"
I personally have never ever been on a boat before so when I look at this 3 word sentence, I think, what does it feel like to be on boat or ship. What does it feel like to see the land coming closer and closer? I think it should feel great. With the wind in your hair and the smell of the ocean all around you. I would be reluctant to leave the ship after seeing the land and those three words would be the phrase I would dread to hear. However, I were stranded at sea, and I haven't eaten or drank anything, it would be a whole different story. These three words would be the words I yearn to hear and they would send shivers down my spine, just thinking about going back on land once more and not drowning in the salty water.

Reading Journal QQC

"But it was the smell, the wild, briny smell, which really convinced Lucy that she was not dreaming." I love how smells can convince you of so many things, plus I like the idea of a wild, briny smell."

I chose this quote because I do agree with it. When I think I'm dreaming, the first thing I do is pinch myself. Sometimes I wouldn't be convinced by the tingling feeling on my arm. However, If I do smell something, maybe the smell of grass, my bedroom, or food, I would be immediately convinced. This is because you can't smell your dreams (I think). You can be anywhere you like, Willy wonka's chocolate factory, Candyland, maybe even the a dense forest with hundreds of different smells to smell, you still only smell your blankets, sheets, and pillow.

Wouldn't it be nice to smell your dreams though? Imagine you were dreaming of hot pancakes in the morning. Only that you can't smell them, or taste them in this case. What if you were in a garden full of flowers. It would be a magnificent sight to see, but you still can't smell their beauty. If only you can smell your dreams. That would be nice.

Reading Journal In Class

"Do not allow your mind to be distracted by idle questions. Application to businesses is the root of prosperity but those who ask questions that do not concern them are steering the ship of folly toward the rock of indigence." To me, this quote doesn't really make sense. I believe in the saying, "there are no stupid questions." and that the human mind is meant to roam around. But then again, if I went up to a college professor and asked him if his refrigerator was running, that would be kind of a stupid question. the question that popped up in my head when reading this quote was, if people did not ask questions, nothing in this world would probably be here. If Abraham Lincoln did not ask himself the question, "is slavery right?" there would probably still be slavery here in the United States. If John F. Kennedy didn't ask himself the question, "Is segregation right?" there would still be separate bathrooms for African Americans and Caucasians. If Barrack Obama did not ask the questions, "Do we need change?" we wouldn't have had our very first African American president. In the end, I still believe that asking questions does not steer your ship into a "rock of indigence", instead, it steers your ship into the light of change and growth. Asking these questions help up understand that there is room for change and let's us all grow in these aspects.

Reading Journal

So the book I'm reading is called the Voyage of the Dawn treader. Well in this story, there is this mouse that is really cool and can kill people. So I found this short verse or poem sort of that he speaks. Its the only quote i could find suitable for this reading journal.

"Where the sky and water meet, Where the waves grow sweet, To find all you seek, There is the utter east."

I really have absolutely no idea on what this means. I just know that its gonna matter at the end of the book. Another question that rises after reading that quote again is why it calls the east "utter" as if it were hard or bad. I think that this book is pretty well written and its pretty interesting.

Media

To me, when I think of media, I think of television, and the random press conferences that you see. Well basically, media is advertisements. There's media on our computers, keyboards, mouses, trash cans, staplers, toasters, food, and a lot of things that we use everyday. In reality, media is everywhere. Scary isn't it.

Reading Journal!

Its been a very very very very very long time since I posted one of these. Well the new book Im reading is called The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Yes, another Narnia book.

Prologue?
So basically, there are a bunch of British kids who were kings and queens of this other land named Narnia. Their names were Edmund, Susan, Lucy, and Peter. It would actually be pretty awesome if there really was a Narnia. Anyways, after many years of ruling in Narnia, they were finally sent back home. When they had arrived they found that no time in "their world" had passed. They stayed in England for a year and then one day a prince named Caspian blew Lucy's Horn that she left in Narnia. This had made the four kids teleport back to narnia. When they arrived to Narnia, they found that thousands of years had passed. So basically after killing the evil king miraz and saving all the little talking animals, the four kings and queens were forced to go back to england.

Basically, in their last arrival in Narnia, Susan and Peter learned that they will never be in Narnia ever again (gasp). However they said that the other two would be going back to Narnia One day. So one day, Eustace (Susan, Peter, Edmund, and Lucy's annoying cousin) came over. Edmund and Lucy were sitting in Lcy's room looking at a picture of a ship. Eustace kept claiming it was ugly. All of a sudden the picture came to life and all 3 of the children were sucked back into Narnia. It was here they met Prince Caspian again and started their voyage to the Edge of the World.
